Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: October 6, 2026

Welcome to The Hearth Arts & Enrichment Center. These Terms & Conditions apply when you use our website, register for a class, workshop or event, book a party or rental, purchase a gift certificate, or otherwise participate in an offering provided by The Hearth.

By making a purchase, completing a registration or reservation, or participating in a Hearth program or event, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to any additional policies or requirements provided for the specific program, event, party, or rental.

Classes, Workshops & Events

Registration is required for most classes, workshops, and special events unless otherwise stated.

Space is limited and registrations are accepted based on availability. Registration is not considered complete until any required payment has been received.

Program details, including dates, times, instructors, age requirements, materials, and other information, may vary by event and will be provided on the applicable registration page.

The Hearth reserves the right to make reasonable changes to instructors, programming, schedules, or event details when necessary.

Payments

Online payments for Hearth classes, workshops, events, and other offerings are processed through Bookwhen using Stripe.

Certain payments may also be accepted directly by The Hearth, including cash or Venmo, for items such as deposits, drop-in classes, open craft sessions, or other offerings where direct payment is permitted.

Prices are listed or communicated at the time of registration, booking, or purchase and may vary by program, event, party, rental, or activity.

Unless otherwise stated, payment is due at the time of registration or according to the payment terms provided for the applicable class, event, private party, rental, or other offering.

Cancellations, Refunds & Transfers
Unless otherwise stated for a specific program, sales are final.
We understand that plans sometimes change. When possible, The Hearth may allow a registration to be transferred to another eligible class or event when at least 48 hours' notice is provided. Transfers are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.

Missed classes, workshops, or events are generally not refundable.
Certain programs, instructors, special events, parties, rentals, or third-party offerings may have their own cancellation or refund policies. When a different policy applies, it will be communicated at the time of booking.

Cancellations by The Hearth

The Hearth may cancel, postpone, reschedule, or modify a class, workshop, event, or other program because of weather, instructor illness, insufficient enrollment, safety concerns, circumstances beyond our control, or other operational reasons.

When The Hearth cancels an offering and is unable to provide a reasonable replacement or rescheduled date, registered participants will generally be offered an appropriate credit, transfer, or refund.

Specific options may vary depending on the circumstances and the nature of the event.

Parties, Private Events & Rentals

Private parties, room rentals, and other private events may require a deposit to reserve the requested date and time.

Unless otherwise stated in the applicable agreement, deposits are non-refundable and will be applied toward the total amount due.

Certain rentals may also require a refundable damage deposit. Damage deposits are returned after the event provided the space, furnishings, equipment, and materials are left in acceptable condition and no additional cleaning, repair, replacement, or other charges are required.

The individual making the reservation is responsible for complying with the terms of the applicable rental or party agreement and for the conduct of their guests.

Specific pricing, deposits, guest limits, setup and cleanup requirements, cancellation terms, and other conditions may be included in a separate agreement and will control where they differ from these general Terms & Conditions.

Children & Supervision

Parents, guardians, and responsible adults are responsible for reviewing the age requirements and supervision expectations for each program before registering a child.

Some Hearth programs are designed as drop-off activities, while others require a parent or responsible adult to remain onsite. Requirements may vary based on the age of participants, the type of activity, and the particular event.

Children who are not registered participants may not be permitted to occupy participant spaces, use materials, or participate in activities when attendance is limited.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for providing accurate emergency, allergy, medical, behavioral, or other relevant information when such information is requested and reasonably necessary for participation.

Safety & Participation

Participants are expected to follow reasonable instructions provided by Hearth staff, instructors, facilitators, and event leaders.

Some activities involve art materials, tools, movement, food, or other hands-on experiences. Participants or their parent or guardian are responsible for determining whether an activity is appropriate for them and for communicating relevant allergies, sensitivities, accessibility needs, or safety concerns.

The Hearth may restrict or discontinue participation when behavior creates a safety concern, materially disrupts a program, damages property, or interferes with the ability of others to participate.

Photography & Video

Photographs or videos may occasionally be taken during Hearth classes, workshops, parties, and special events for use in The Hearth's website, social media, advertising, or other promotional communications.

For children, The Hearth requests permission from a parent or guardian before using or publishing identifiable photographs or videos for promotional purposes.

If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please let a Hearth team member or event leader know.

Personal Property

Participants and guests are responsible for their personal belongings while visiting The Hearth.

To the extent permitted by law, The Hearth is not responsible for personal property that is lost, stolen, damaged, or left behind.

Conduct & Respect for the Space

The Hearth is intended to be a welcoming community space.

We ask all guests to treat fellow participants, instructors, staff, volunteers, equipment, artwork, furnishings, and the facility with respect.

The Hearth reserves the right to ask an individual to leave or to restrict future participation when conduct is unsafe, threatening, destructive, seriously disruptive, or inappropriate for the program or community environment.

Gift Certificates
Gift certificates may be used toward eligible Hearth offerings according to the terms provided at the time of purchase.

Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash except where required by law and may be subject to additional terms shown at the time of purchase.

Third-Party Services

The Hearth uses third-party services to support portions of our website and registration process, including Wix, Bookwhen, Stripe, and other providers.

Use of those services may also be subject to the provider's own terms, policies, and privacy practices.

The Hearth is not responsible for the operation or availability of independently operated third-party services.

Website Use

Content on The Hearth website is provided for general informational and promotional purposes.

The Hearth may update, change, correct, or remove website content at any time.

All Hearth names, logos, original written content, graphics, photographs, program materials, and other original content remain the property of The Hearth or their respective owners and may not be reproduced or used commercially without permission.

Limitation of Liability

Participation in creative, recreational, movement, educational, and community activities may involve ordinary risks associated with the activity.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Hearth is not responsible for losses or injuries resulting from risks inherent in an activity or from circumstances outside The Hearth's reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

Accessibility & Accommodations

We want The Hearth to be welcoming and accessible.

If you or a participant may need a reasonable accommodation to participate in a class, workshop, event, or other Hearth offering, please contact us in advance when possible so we can discuss the specific needs and determine what accommodations may be available.

Changes to These Terms

The Hearth may update these Terms & Conditions periodically to reflect changes in our programs, policies, website, business practices, or legal requirements.

The current version will be posted on our website with the date it was last updated.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
